Cheryl Meril worked ten years at major law firms including Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Morrison & Foerster LLP as a legal and technical document specialist. In 2008, Ms. Meril obtained her Paralegal Certificate from National Paralegal College with a 4.0 GPA. Ms. Meril also obtained her notary commission as a Notary Public for the State of California in 2008.

Ms. Meril opened AYSLDP in late 2009 as a means to promote self-help legal services as much needed to counter excessive attorney fees for non-complex legal issues. As an active member of both the California Legal Document Association (CALDA) and National Notary Association (NNA), Ms. Meril keeps updated on the latest changes in legal document preparation and notarization law.
